National Keto Day – Essential Keto Tips

January is an interesting month. After indulging in mouth-watering food and treating ourselves to foods we usually don’t eat, come January, we start looking for ways to shed the pounds. With it being national keto day on January 5th 2022, I wanted to give you keto diet tips to help you get back on track.

It’s never too late to start over and make those hard decisions when it comes to your diet and loosing weight. As a person who struggled to commit to the keto diet at the beginning of my journey, I know how challenging it can get, which is why I wanted to create this post and help someone out there on their journey. Regardless of where you are, you can dive in, take on these keto tips, take part in the 10-day keto challenge or 28-day keto challenge. Taking part in a keto challenge can be a great introduction to the diet and can facilitate your new lifestyle. Partake in either one of the challenges as part of the national keto day.

Set your goal

Before doing anything regarding a new diet or a change of lifestyle, ask yourself what you’re looking to get out of this diet. Ask yourself the hard questions, such as who am I doing it for, why am I doing it, etc. When you’ve established your goal, you’ll be ready for the next step. Take a look at some of our keto stories.

Start simple

The worst thing you can do is go cold turkey and eliminate all the foods that you consider to be bad all at once. Not only will it be harder to commit, but chances are also higher that you’ll relapse. Instead, focus on eliminating a few foods every week, and as you progress, you’ll be able to cut down on more non-keto food. Keep the bad food away

This ultimately means, don’t keep anything that could be a possible temptation at the house. Get rid of the cookies, the cakes, starchy vegetables, or whatever you tend to crave – it’ll be much easier to commit to your new diet if you don’t have any distractions in front of you. Meal prepping will not only save you time, but it’ll also help you create a balanced, healthy keto meal plan, which will decrease your impulsive desire to eat out. Don’t let the keto flu throw you off

The keto flu is similar to the regular flu and is something you experience when you’re new to keto. The phase can last for up to a week and can be quite draining. However, once you’ve experienced it, you’ll come out stronger and better.

Water, water, water

You already know this, but water is everything. Make sure you stay hydrated to ensure your body can smoothly adjust to your new diet, as your body will flush much of it out.

Don’t be too hard on yourself

Yes, national keto day is on January 5th 2022, we hope this post can help you prepare for the new year and maybe a new you? But if you are not ready or you feel too much pressure, then don’t beat yourself up about it. You’re human, and you will make mistakes.

If you fall off the track, that’s absolutely fine. Just make sure you don’t stay there for too long. If you find yourself a non-keto food, forgive yourself and try to stick to keto foods for the rest of the day.
