Pink Drink Recipe – Low Carb Keto Version
Discover how to create and make Starbucks‘ famous pink drink in the comfort of your home with my simple, keto pink drink recipe. This low-carb keto version tastes just like the original drink but contains fewer calories and carbs. Despite being a sugar-free pink drink, the Starbucks keto pink drink still has a creamy texture and fruity taste that you will love.
The original pink drink is also known as the Starbucks Acai drink, a sweet, light, refreshing drink with a colorful pink shade. The crispy beverage is made with strawberry acai and combines passion tango tea with coconut milk to create an exotic flavor. The sweet drink is also mixed with dried strawberries to add a fruity taste to an already delicious drink. However, despite its tastiness, the pink drink contains a lot of sugar.
According to Starbucks, the large 16 fl oz cup of the pink drink has 140 calories – that is too many calories if you are following a strict keto diet. If you are new to this diet and need to learn more about the keto diet and what you need to eat to maintain a keto lifestyle, take a look at our guide. Keto Diet Plan and Advice for Beginners.
How To Make The ‘Keto’ Pink Drink Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 bag of any fruit flavored tea
- 1.5 cups of ice cubes (optional)
- 0.5 cup of hot water
- ½ cup Sliced strawberries- fresh or frozen strawberries
- ½ cup of heavy cream- For a dairy-free version, you can swap the heavy cream with coconut cream
- ½ cup of coconut milk
- 1 tbsp of any sweetener of your choice
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
Recipe Instructions
- Start by steeping the tea bags into the hot water for at least 3-4 minutes. Then gently squeeze the tea bag into the water before disposing of it to get the excess flavors.
- Fill your cups with ice cubes (if you would rather do without, simply skip this part) and pour half of the passion tea into each cup.
- Add the sliced strawberries, heavy cream, sweetener, coconut milk, and vanilla extract into each cup.
- Stir the mixture and enjoy!
How To Order The Keto Pink Drink
If you do find yourself craving the pink drink and can’t be bothered to make your own, you can always get it from Starbucks if you are okay with using sugar-free syrups made with sucralose ( a zero-calorie artificial sweetener). It is sort of like a secret beverage that you can customize at your local Starbucks to make sure it fits your needs. Ask them to leave out the water and use the following ingredients:
- Passion tango iced tea
- 3 pumps of vanilla free syrup
- No trace of liquid cane sugar
- Heavy cream
- Ice
How many calories are in the keto pink drink recipe?
This sugar-free pink drink does not contain many calories. At 108 calories per cup, it is a way better pick than the traditional Starbucks pink drink and is just as delicious (if not more).
Can I use other tea bags for this keto pink drink?
We are happy to say, Yes, you can. Most people like the combination of a raspberry tea bag and a berry tea bag, but you can use whatever you have in your kitchen. The passion tea bags make a delicious pink drink too.
