As a lover of cupcakes, particularly chocolate cupcakes, I struggled with dessert at the beginning of my keto journey as I had developed a true love for all things sweet. So you can only imagine the joy I felt when I began to experiment with my recipes to make everything keto-friendly.

Adding frosting to your desserts can really amplify the taste and make it so much better. But if you’re going to do so, you should make sure that you have a healthy icing that won’t mess up your diet. Here’s what you need to know.

 

Keto chocolate frosting

This keto chocolate frosting can be ready in no time – we’re talking minutes – and you can add it to just about anything, from vanilla cakes to chocolate brownies.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups powdered sweetener (preferably Monk)
  • ½ cup butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tbsp milk or ½ tbsp heavy cream

  • ½ cup butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Can you freeze frosting?

Yes! You can freeze your keto cake frosting for up to 2 months by putting the paste in the freezer 24 hours after first making it. If you’re not going to freeze your keto icing, you can keep it in a refrigerator for up to a week.

Step 1: Add the powdered sugar and butter to a large bowl and mix until you get a smooth paste. Continue by adding the vanilla extract and continue to mix until your paste is fluffy.

Step 2: Add the flavor of your choice and the milk and mix it until you get your desired consistency. If the texture is too thick, add a bit of milk to thin it out.
