What foods to avoid at McDonalds on Keto

Drinks and desserts

As a first step, keep your soft drinks away since these are incredibly high in sugar and unwanted carbs and calories. If you have to grab something other than water, stick to diet sodas that have no net carbs.

A second no-go is McDonald's ice creams and milkshakes - they are also high in sugar content, and sugar-free coffee. Despite their sugar-free status, they don't contain zero carbohydrates.

To avoid the added carbs, order black coffee and add your favorite sweeteners like Swerve, Stevia, or Monk Fruit.

Sauces & Dressings

You should also avoid ketchup and fries. It is almost impossible not to get ketchup on a sandwich, so make sure you ask for no ketchup! As an alternative to ketchup, you might consider mustard or mayo, both of which have no net carbs!

The salad dressing options include unnecessary carbohydrates and calories, just like ketchup. Why not make your own dipping sauce using the available options instead? Neither the buffalo dipping sauce nor the creamy ranch dipping sauce has more than 1 net carb per serving.

The two ingredients can be mixed together to make a delicious low carb spicy ranch dressing for spicing up your burgers and salads!

Breads & breaded items

If you're looking for keto Mcdonalds options, you’re gonna have to get rid of the bread. I’m talking about anything breaded, such as nuggets, buns, muffins, wraps, biscuits and bagels. If you’re having a burger, go for a bunless burger.
